De-Installation & Asset Removal

CloudBlue performs hardware de-installation services at customer facilities for all types of IT assets, including data center and desktop assets. Our Field Services Group designs customized solutions for each customer's unique requirements. Our professionally trained, background-checked and drug-tested employees are utilized to perform the de-installation services to ensure a secure chain-of-custody.

An example of the tasks performed by our team for a recent data center de-installation project across multiple locations in the US:

• Perform a DoD-compliant, 3-pass data wipe of all hard drives in servers designated for de-installation
• Remove and shred or degauss hard drives that fail the erasure process
• Power off the server via power button
• Unplug and remove power cord/s from PDU
• Label all network, fiber and KVM cables with server serial number and port number
• Perform “eyes on” Make, Model and serial number verification
• Barcode scan Make, Model and Serial Number and record on Bill of Lading (“BOL”)
• Remove server from rails and place in staging area
• Remove rails and place in staging area
• Mark server as removed from rack
• Package servers on pallets and load into CloudBlue truck
• Confirm correct server count on BOL
• Obtain BOL sign-off from Customer employee
• Seal CloudBlue truck and depart.
